-
EMDR helps people process distressing memories and experiences safely and effectively
-
It works with the brain’s natural ability to heal and bring forward adaptive information.
-
EMDR has been found to have lasting relief from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional symptoms.
-
EMDR is adaptive for all experiences and situation.
-
Helps your brain finish what trauma started.
During an EMDR therapy session, you will be guided to:
-
Talk, pause, move, and notice what comes up in a way that feels safe and supported.
-
Recognise how you feel when recalling a memory.
-
Notice where those feelings and emotions sit in your body.
-
Become aware of the beliefs that arise alongside the memory.
-
Use in bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help your brain reprocess the experience.
-
Allow adaptive information and positive beliefs that come from within.
-
Ground and regulate before leaving the therapy space.

“EMDR is a bizarre and wondrous treatment … Then I did what’s probably the largest NIH-funded study on EMDR. And we found that … it had the best outcome of any treatment that has been published.”
Bessel van der Kolk
“Research has shown that about five hours of EMDR treatment eliminates PTSD in 84 to 100 percent of civilians with a single trauma experience, including rape, accident, or disaster.”
Francine Shapiro, EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma
